Hello and welcome to my classroom website. My name is Derek Jarman. This is my 8th year teaching at Meadowbrook. I will be co-teaching this year with Mrs. Lee and Mrs. Fee. My passion for helping children set goals and surpass all expectations is what drives me to be the best teacher I can be. I also coach the boys' and girls' soccer teams at Civic Memorial.
My family of six consists of my wife, Susan, my kids Hudson, Scarlett, Jackson and our BIG DOG Max, a blue weimaraner. We love to travel to beach destinations, different baseball stadiums, and anywhere we can spend time outdoors.
I look forward to another great year at Meadowbrook with the best kids on the planet!

Effective November 1, 2011:
Driver’s License Photo ID
Is Required When Signing Out Students
DURING The School Day.
School Closing Procedures:
Occasionally, severe weather makes it necessary to suspend school for a day. When this occurs, it will be announced on radio stations KMOX (1120 AM) and WBGZ (1570 AM) and television stations KTVI (Channel 2), KMOV (Channel 4), and KSDK (Channel 5), our district website, and the telephone communication system.
Students and parents should refrain from calling school officials to see if there will be school since the phone must be kept open for emergency calls. Please check the website at www.bethalto.org.
If bad weather develops during the day, and it becomes necessary to dismiss school early, the Principals will use their best judgment for the safety and welfare of the pupils. Younger students are not sent home before the regular dismissal time unless there is reasonable assurance that a parent is at home during the day. It is suggested that you discuss with your child what should be done if school is dismissed early.
